Forecastr Beta Update – Jan 5, 2022

Wednesday, January 5th 2022 (13 days ago)

Hey gang, Zack here. Happy New Year!

We’ve made some significant progress on a lot of highly requested features, as well as some performance and UI improvements, and we’re excited to share them with you today.

Below are the features and improvements that were released last quarter. Let’s check out what’s new in Forecastr.

New Features

Scenario Clone:

Our ability to have multiple Scenarios for your business was very valuable to many of you, but it was time-consuming to create new Scenarios from scratch. Enter Scenario Clone! You simply click on the Scenario dropdown, click the 3-dot menu next to the Scenario you want to Clone, click Clone, and bam! You have an editable copy of that original Scenario. Now you can modify your models to compare things like Best Case vs. Worst Case, or B2B vs. B2C focus. Some users have a model they use for internal tracking and a separate one for fundraising. The options are endless.

Sticky Headers:

We want our product to be stickier, and one way to do that was to make the Data Table Headers sticky! Now, when you have a lot of rows in your model and scroll down, you’ll see the month and/or year of each column at the top of the screen. No more guessing or scrolling back and forth to see your data easily and accurately.

Repeat Pattern Metrics:

One of our most requested features was the ability to make Metrics that can flow differently in a pattern (like sales seasonality or expenses that occur quarterly). Repeat Pattern Metrics lets you do just that! Now when you create a new Metric, you can select Repeat Pattern as the Type. Then select Pattern Duration (how many months before it repeats) and set the value for each month. It’s a simple way to add a relatively complex repeating process into your model.

Month Pickers:

Our model operates on a monthly basis, but our original Date Pickers were actually Day Pickers. We’ve cleaned them up to be Month Pickers so that you don’t have to worry about which day you clicked. Just select the month and year and you’re done.

That’s it for this release! Stay tuned for future release notes.
